Easy-fit non-contact bearing isolators extend bearing life

Garlock has introduced a new non-contact bearing isolator which reduces the ingress of water and particles in oil a major cause of premature bearing failure. Minimising downtime the KLOZURE GUARDIAN Bearing Isolator range can be hand installed on site without the use of special tools using a patented cam lock system.

Supplied as a single assembled unit, the GUARDIAN comprises two bronze bodies separated by a PTFE locking ring that ensures zero contact of metallic parts & low energy loss through reduced friction.

From applications such as severe duty motor applications, in the petroleum and chemical industries, to paper roll end bearing seals and pump bearing frames, the GUARDIAN is highly cost effective when replacing conventional torque generating lip seals.

In addition to its timesaving cam lock locating system, which avoids the usual requirement of an arbor press, GUARDIAN TM has a high tolerance misalignment capability. Its shaft to bore misalignment of 0,51mm (0.020 ins)and axial motion of 0,64mm (0.02 ins) makes it an ideal replacement for seals on older worn equipment.

Further enhancing its design and suitability for aggressive environments the GUARDIAN TM has no internal O rings and operates within the temperature range -34C to 204C and high shaft speeds up to a maximum surface speed of 61 m/s (12,000 fpm).
